Niamh Boadle

One of folk music’s rising stars with vocals, guitar, and fiddle.

Niamh Boadle is one of the new generation of performers who have been immersed in English folk music tradition and Irish song, music and dance from an early age. She is a multi-instrumentalist and singer who performs in a variety of styles from traditional folk to her own self-penned compositions.

  • BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Awards Finalist 2010, at age 15;
  • Gained a 1st Class BMus Degree with Honours in Folk & Traditional Music at Newcastle University;
  • Spent a semester studying on the Irish Music & Dance BA at Limerick University 2014;
  • BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Awards Semi-Finalist 2012 with Tri;
  • Bromyard FF Traditional Singers Competition Winner 2009;
  • Teaches at Sage Gateshead as part of Folkworks adult classes;
  • Tutor with the youth band Cream Tees;
  • Young Acoustic Roots Winner at Wath FF 2009;
  • Won various medals at the All-Britain and All-Ireland Fleadhanna;
  • Finalist in the New Roots Competition 2008;
  • Finalist in the New Roots Competition 2009 with Tri.
