Chris Foster – Review

The Ryburn Folk Club‘s 2018 -19 season got off to a fine start on September 26th with Chris Foster as the guest. Chris now lives in Iceland so this was one of only a few chances to see him this year in the UK, and judging from the numbers in the audience many people welcomed the opportunity.

Chris is an “old school” singer with a fabulous guitar style. He started with “The Seeds of Love” and moved effortlessly through songs which were familiar and yet new: he explained that he liked sing traditional songs with some variations. He also performed two self-penned songs: “Clinging to the Edge”, and “Spring Song”.

Residents and Floor Singers gave their best and overall it was a lovely evening and a great start to the season.
