Ryburn Folk Club – Virtual House Concerts

Here at Ryburn 3 Step we are trying to keep some activities going under the restrictions imposed by HM Government to combat the spread of COVID-19. We are delighted that George Sansome will be the guest at our first ‘Virtual House Concert’ on Wednesday evening 27 May.

The proceedings will open at 8.30pm for half an hour’s chat with the Ryburn Folk Club regulars, and George will sing, play, and talk from 9.00 to 10.00. For more information please visit our EVENTS page.

There is no entry charge to R3S Virtual House Concerts. Many singers and musicians have currently lost a considerable part of their income from live performances and concerts, so we ask you to make a donation (whatever you can afford, guide £5 per person) direct to the performer. You can also visit their website to purchase CD’s and other merchandise. Thank you.

If you would like to join a Virtual House Concert please register by sending an email to ryburn3step@gmail.com with your name and email address. We will then send you the Zoom meeting ID and password which will allow you to join us on the night.

Places are limited to 25 so please email us without delay to avoid disappointment.

We are planning more ‘Virtual House Concerts’ monthly on Wednesday evenings and will announce these when we can.

The Ryburn Folk Club normally meets on the last Wednesday of the month from September to June.  The venue is the upstairs room in The Malthouse, Rishworth, close to Junction 22 of the M62. (HX6 4QB).

Each month there is a featured guest supported by an all star cast of Resident singers, many of whom are well known gigging performers in their own right – see the lists below. We start about 7.45pm with a few tunes from the Pit Band, then a few songs from the Residents before the first set from the Guest(s). After a short interval, we hear more from the Residents and then the second set from the Guest(s) and finish at 10.45pm.

Admission is £9 for all adults, students 13 and over in full-time education £5.

Residents: Pete Coe; Chris Coe; Sue Burgess; Chris Manners; Alice Jones; Tim Edwards; Johnny Adams.
