Barn Dance at Waring Green with caller Brenda Spence and the Dogsbody band

February 15, 2020 @ 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm

The Dogsbody band is a well-established West Yorkshire folk dance and ceildh band who perform lively renditions of traditional music and dances of the British Isles, from fast jigs and reels to slow, lilting Celtic love songs. The members are  Pete Norman on guitar, Leah Fox on harp, Norrie Spence on melodeon and whistle, Kath Charnock on fiddle, and Fran Hughes on 12 string guitar.

Dogsbody’s Caller is Brenda Spence, who also plays the bodhran and the bazouki. Brenda is well-known throughout the folk music world as an MC, caller and club organiser. She has made regular appearances at leading folk festivals throughout the region. Her ready sense of fun, and ability to match the dances to the skills of the dancers ensure a good night out for everyone.
