Barn Dance with Our Northern Branch and Sid Calderbank
April 20 @ 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm
April’s Barn Dance at the Waring Green Community Centre features “Our Northern Branch” with caller Sid Calderbank from Lancashire.
The inimitable and entertaining Sid Calderbank who, aside from calling for dances is also an authority on the Lancashire dialect, will join with the Band to provide an enjoyable evening of northern tunes, English country dances and hopefully an occasional poem or anecdote in broad Lancashire. Come along and enjoy the dancing and some jolly entertainment.
“Our Northern Branch” comprises three fiddles and a cello, recreating an authentic village string band sound to play a repertoire of mostly eighteenth and nineteenth century dance tunes.
