Lead singer and guitarist from Granny’s Attic
George Sansome performs folk songs from the UK, Canada and the USA, as well as contemporary songs and fingerstyle guitar instrumentals.
He is a proficient euphonium player and performs with Leeds’ finest brass-pop oompah party band The Brasswursts as well as in brass bands in Yorkshire. During his BA Music course at the University of Leeds he studied under Michael Dodd of Grimethorpe Colliery Band. He has also performed a number of concerts of contemporary music for euphonium including the UK premiere of Hans Joachim Hespos’ “tiff” in 2016.
George keeps himself busy singing and playing guitar with the well-known and energetic folk trio Granny’s Attic. They perform a range of traditional songs and tunes from the British Isles, along with original compositions and music from further afield.
